New No 1

Located at 118 E Prospect Ave, Mt Vernon, NY 10550, New No 1 operates as a chinese restaurant serving Mt Vernon in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as delivery restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Mt Vernon; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 AM–10:30 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (914) 668-0043. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, newno1mv.com.

Its Google rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 79 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Mt Vernon is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Mt Vernon follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.
